Terms of Service

Welcome to Hifzly ("the App", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Hifzly, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. What Hifzly is

Hifzly is a mobile application for Android and iOS for Quran memorization, offering spaced-repetition review, Recite mode, Live Follow recitation tracking, and AI-assisted tajweed feedback. hifzly.net is an informational website. The App is provided as an educational aid — not as a substitute for study with a qualified teacher.

2. Your account

  • You may use Hifzly anonymously, or sign in with Google or Apple to keep your account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your Google or Apple account secure. Actions taken under your account are attributed to you.
  • You can delete your account at any time through Settings or by emailing support@hifzly.net. Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription (see Section 6).

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Quran text datasets bundled with the App beyond personal use.
  • Use automated tools or scrapers against our servers to spam feedback requests, flood endpoints, or abuse rate limits.
  • Reset, spoof, or otherwise work around the free trial or the daily allowance.
  • Misuse the App to publish, distribute, or otherwise share content that is illegal, harmful, or infringing on others' rights.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or circumvent authentication.

4. Content and Quran text

Quran text displayed in Hifzly is sourced from publicly available corpora (Quran.com, Madinah Mushaf QCF4 open fonts, and the Tanzil/Uthmani open text). We do not claim copyright over the Quran text. Audio recitations, when present, are streamed from third-party providers under their respective licenses.

Our app code, UI design, and derivative analytics (tajweed analyses, progress reports, and SRS scheduling) are the intellectual property of Hifzly's author.

5. AI tajweed feedback

The Tajweed Coach uses Google Gemini to analyze your recitation and provide feedback. This feedback is algorithmic and best-effort: it may not be perfectly accurate, and should be treated as a training aid — not a definitive tajweed ruling. For ijazah-level certification, always consult a qualified teacher.

6. Free features, trial, and Pro subscription

Free. Without paying, you can read all 604 pages of the Mushaf, listen to reciters with word-by-word highlighting, create unlimited loops, and use your progress and Mushaf completion tracker. You also get 10 minutes a day of Recite mode, Live Follow, and the Tajweed Coach combined. The allowance resets daily and unused minutes don't carry over.

Free trial. Every new install includes a 7-day Pro trial that starts automatically on first launch. No payment details are needed, and the trial ends on its own; you are not charged when it ends. The trial is available once per device.

Pro. Pro removes the daily limit and adds collections, roadmaps, and syncing your progress across devices. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, currently $4.99 per month or the equivalent price your store shows in your currency.

  • Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase, and the store's terms of sale apply.
  • Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Canceling. Cancel anytime in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or on your iPhone (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the App or deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its own refund policy. We can't issue refunds for purchases made through Google Play or the App Store.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, you'll be notified in advance as the store requires, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

We may change which features are free or Pro. If a change removes something you're paying for, you can cancel as above.

7. Offered as-is

The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind — we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, zero bugs, or 100% tajweed accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

8. Privacy

Your data is handled per our Privacy Policy. We request only the minimum sign-in information needed to identify you and we never sell your data.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be notified inside the App before they take effect.

10. Termination

You may stop using Hifzly at any time by deleting your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 3 (Acceptable Use).

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the residence of the App's author. Any disputes not resolvable through good-faith communication may be settled under that jurisdiction.
